# Google Maps — Place search

Search Google Maps for places matching a query or location HTML version: https://www.socialrouter.io/services/googlemaps/place.search

## Call it

```
POST https://api.socialrouter.io/v1/extract/googlemaps/place.search
Authorization: Bearer <your API key>
Content-Type: application/json
{ "queries": ["best pizza in Brooklyn, NY"] }
```

The response shape does not depend on which offer ran; `served_by` names the one that did.

## Input

- `Free-text search query, as you would type it in Google Maps`. Example: `best pizza in Brooklyn, NY`

## Options

- `language` (string), default `en` — Language for the search query and the returned place data, as a two-letter code, e.g. "fr", "de", "es". Google Maps localizes both the ranking and the text fields (category, address, opening-hours labels) to it. Defaults to "en".
- `countryCode` (string) — Restrict the search to one country, as a lowercase two-letter code, e.g. "us", "fr", "gb". The coarse geographic scope — combine with city/state for a tighter area.
- `city` (string) — City to focus the search on, as free text, e.g. "Brooklyn". Best combined with countryCode.
- `state` (string) — State / region to focus the search on, as free text, e.g. "New York".
- `county` (string) — County to focus the search on, as free text, e.g. "Kings County".
- `postalCode` (string) — Postal / ZIP code to focus the search on, e.g. "11201". The actor only honours it together with countryCode and city, and only for a single search term.
