Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
1.Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
(i)These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the relationship between you ("You", "Customer", or "User") and SocialRouter ("SocialRouter," "we," "us," or "our") with respect to Your access to and use of our unified API for social media data extraction, the related dashboard, and any other tools or features we provide (collectively, the "Services").
(ii)By accessing or using any part of the Services, You acknowledge that You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and any additional guidelines, policies, or documents referenced herein, including our Privacy Policy.
(iii)If You do not agree with these Terms, in whole or in part, You must refrain from using the Services.
2.Definitions
(i)"User" or "You" refers to the individual or entity accessing the Services.
(ii)"Provider" means a third-party data extraction service (such as Lobstr, Evaboot, PhantomBuster, Captain Data, Apify, BrightData, and any other provider listed on the /providers page) that SocialRouter routes requests to.
(iii)"Extraction" means a request submitted to the API to retrieve data from a public social media URL or profile.
(iv)"Credits" refers to the unit of account used to measure and bill usage of the Services.
(v)"Subprocessor" means a third party engaged by SocialRouter to process User data, including Providers, hosting and payment partners.
3.Services Description and Scope
(i)SocialRouter provides a unified API that routes extraction requests to Providers, normalizes the responses into a consistent format, and bills usage on a pay-as-you-go basis.
(ii)The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. SocialRouter does not warrant that the Services will be error-free, available without interruption, or that any specific Provider will be available at any given time.
(iii)SocialRouter does not itself scrape or extract data from social networks. All extraction is performed by third-party Providers, each of which operates under its own terms and assumes its own legal risk regarding source-platform terms of service.
(iv)SocialRouter does not enrich extracted data with contact information (email, phone) and does not provide outreach tooling.
4.Use of the Services; User Obligations and Restrictions
(i)You represent and warrant that You have the legal capacity and authority to enter into these Terms. You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Services.
(ii)When using the Services on behalf of a business or organization, You must have all necessary rights and approvals to bind that entity to these Terms.
(iii)You shall not:
- Attempt to hack, exploit, interfere with, or compromise the security or functionality of the Services or any Provider.
- Reverse-engineer, probe, or attempt to bypass routing logic, rate limits, billing, or caching mechanisms.
- Abuse the Services by generating excessive load or by submitting requests designed to materially degrade performance for other Users.
- Use the Services for unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, defamatory, or malicious activities, including stalking, doxxing, or targeting individuals.
- Use the Services to conduct mass unsolicited outreach (spam) in violation of applicable law (including GDPR, CAN-SPAM, ePrivacy).
- Use the Services to extract data about minors, or data on individuals who have publicly opted out from the relevant source platform.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Services or raw API responses as a competing data service without prior written consent from SocialRouter.
- Misrepresent Your identity, affiliation, or the purpose of Your extractions.
- Share or transfer Your API key to unauthorized third parties.
(iv)You agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and the terms of the source platforms (such as LinkedIn, Instagram, X) when using the Services and processing the data they return. You are solely responsible for determining and documenting a lawful basis for processing personal data obtained through the Services.
5.Intellectual Property Rights
(i)All intellectual property rights in and to the Services and their underlying technology, excluding User-provided inputs and data returned by Providers, belong to SocialRouter or its licensors.
(ii)SocialRouter does not claim ownership over the data returned to You through the API. Ownership and rights to that data are governed by the source platforms, the Providers' terms, and applicable law.
(iii)Subject to Your compliance with these Terms, SocialRouter grants You a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services, including the API, the dashboard, and the SDKs.
(iv)You grant SocialRouter a limited license to host, store, and process Your inputs (including extraction URLs and parameters) and the data returned by Providers solely for the purpose of delivering, caching, and improving the Services. This license terminates when the corresponding data is deleted from our cache and logs.
(v)You shall not reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code, trade secrets, or other proprietary information related to the Services, including routing weights, Provider costs, applied platform fees, or caching strategies.
6.Pricing, Credits, and Payment Terms
(i)Use of the Services is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. Each Extraction consumes Credits at a rate determined by the Provider used and the platform fee disclosed on the Pricing page. Cache hits are billed at a reduced rate as described on the Pricing page.
(ii)Payment processing is conducted via Stripe. SocialRouter does not store Your payment card details. You are responsible for ensuring Your payment method remains valid.
(iii)Credits are non-transferable. Unused Credits do not expire while Your account remains active. Failed Extractions are not billed; partial successes are billed pro-rata to the records returned.
(iv)Subscription plans (where applicable) automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel through Your account settings.
(v)Provider prices and the platform fee are subject to change. SocialRouter will provide reasonable notice (at least 14 days for material increases) before pricing changes take effect. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance.
(vi)Failure to pay any due amount may result in suspension or termination of access to paid features, throttling of API keys, or invalidation of unused Credits in cases of fraud or chargeback abuse.
(vii)Upon cancellation, You are responsible for managing Your payment method details with Stripe to prevent any unintended charges.
7.Third-Party Providers and Routing
(i)The Services rely on third-party Providers to fulfill Extractions. SocialRouter selects the Provider for each request based on availability, price, and reliability, unless You specify a preferred Provider in the request.
(ii)Each Provider operates under its own terms of service and privacy policy. SocialRouter does not control, and is not responsible for, the actions, accuracy, lawfulness, or availability of any Provider, nor for the quality or completeness of the data they return.
(iii)Provider availability may change without notice. SocialRouter may add, remove, or deprioritize Providers at any time. The failover guarantees described on the Pricing page apply only to plans that explicitly include them.
(iv)When You submit an Extraction, the request URL and parameters are forwarded to the selected Provider. Do not include sensitive personal data, confidential business information, or trade secrets in extraction parameters unless You accept the risk of third-party processing.
8.User Responsibility for Extracted Data
(i)You are solely responsible for the data You request, store, and use through the Services. You represent and warrant that, for each Extraction, You have a lawful basis under applicable data protection law to process the personal data contained in the response.
(ii)In particular, You agree:
- To honor the rights of data subjects (access, deletion, objection) under GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable laws.
- To delete or anonymize personal data once it is no longer necessary for Your stated purpose.
- Not to use extracted data for purposes incompatible with the source platform's reasonable expectations.
- Not to use extracted data to train AI or machine learning models intended for resale, unless permitted by the source platform's terms.
- Not to combine extracted data with sensitive personal data (health, religion, sexual orientation, etc.) without an appropriate legal basis.
(iii)SocialRouter acts as a data processor for extracted data (see Privacy Policy). You, as data controller, indemnify SocialRouter against any claim arising from Your unlawful or improper use of extracted data.
9.Data Management, Hosting, and International Transfers
(i)The Services rely on Supabase for database hosting and authentication, Vercel for application hosting, Stripe for payments, Sentry for error tracking, and PostHog for analytics. By using the Services, You consent to the transfer and processing of Your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
(ii)Some Subprocessors and Providers may process data outside of the European Union. SocialRouter relies on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms where applicable.
(iii)You should practice data minimization and refrain from uploading unnecessary sensitive or confidential information to the platform.
10.Service Availability and Rate Limits
(i)SocialRouter does not guarantee specific uptime, latency, or success rates outside of any contractual SLA agreed in writing for an Enterprise plan.
(ii)Rate limits apply per plan and per API key. SocialRouter may apply additional throttling to protect platform integrity or to comply with Provider rate limits.
(iii)SocialRouter may schedule maintenance windows. Where practical, we will provide advance notice for material maintenance.
11.Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
(i)To the fullest extent permitted by law, SocialRouter disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
(ii)SocialRouter shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to Your use of or inability to use the Services, even if SocialRouter has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
(iii)In no event shall SocialRouter's total cumulative liability exceed the amount paid by You for the Services during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to liability.
(iv)SocialRouter is not liable for the actions, omissions, data quality, or downtime of any Provider or source platform.
12.Refund Policy
(i)Unused Credits may be refunded on a pro-rata basis upon account closure within 12 months of purchase, subject to reasonable verification. Consumed Credits are non-refundable.
(ii)Subscription fees (where applicable) are non-refundable. If You cancel a subscription, You retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period.
(iii)Refund requests due to documented service errors (failed Extractions billed in error, Provider misroutes) are evaluated case-by-case and processed via Stripe.
13.Termination and Suspension of Services
(i)SocialRouter reserves the right to suspend or terminate Your access to the Services at any time, for any reason, including violations of these Terms, suspected fraud, payment failure, or for the maintenance and integrity of the Services.
(ii)Upon termination, any licenses granted to You shall cease, and You must discontinue all use of the Services. Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
(iii)You may terminate your account at any time through the dashboard or via our contact form.
(iv)If Your use of the Services violates these Terms or applicable law — including but not limited to attempting to compromise system security, generating excessive load, bypassing rate limits, or engaging in fraudulent activity — SocialRouter reserves the right to invoice You for all reasonable costs incurred in investigating and remediating such violations.
14.Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
(i)These Terms and any disputes arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
(ii)Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in France.
(iii)Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights You may have as a consumer under the laws of Your country of residence.
15.Amendments to These Terms
(i)SocialRouter may amend these Terms at any time. Any amended Terms will be posted on this page and become effective upon posting.
(ii)We will provide reasonable notice of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Services after amendments have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16.Miscellaneous Provisions
(i)If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
(ii)No waiver of any term or condition shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or any other term or condition.
(iii)These Terms constitute the entire agreement between You and SocialRouter regarding the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings, communications, and agreements, written or oral, regarding such subject matter.
By using SocialRouter or any related Services, You acknowledge that You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, including all disclaimers and limitations of liability.
